Quintessence Biosciences, Inc. has assembled a Business Board to draw upon their managerial and scientific experience to provide input on the scientific and business direction of Quintessence Biosciences. The business board consists of the Dr. Laurits Christensen, Mr. Chris Hornung, Mr. Ralph Kauten (who serves as chairman), Dr. Laura Kiessling (a founder of the Company), Dr. Ronald Raines (a founder of the Company), Mr. Theodore Rolfs, and Mr. David Walsh. |

Dr. Laurits Christensen
Dr. Christensen is Chairman of Laurits R. Christensen Associates, Inc. an economic and engineering analysis and consulting firm. In his twenty years as an economics professor at the UW Madison, he published over sixty articles and established himself as an authority on applied microeconomics, economic evaluation, and econometric modeling. Mr. Christensen obtained his Bachelor degree in economics from Cornell University and his Masters and PhD degrees in Statistics and Economics from University of California-Berkeley. |

Mr. Chris Hornung |
| Mr. Hornung is the founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Cycle of Madison, Wisconsin. He began his career in the bicycle industry while completing his degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin. Utilizing contacts with bicycle manufacturers and distributors, Mr. Hornung built the business to a level of $86 million in sales. In late 2000, under Mr. Hornung's direction, Pacific Cycle purchased Brunswick Bicycles which included the Mongoose, Roadmaster, and Flexible Flyer brands. In September 2001, Pacific Cycle purchased Schwinn/GT. Mr. Hornung holds a Board position at Acufit Manufacturing in Taiwan. In 2002, he received an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. He is a guest lecturer at the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Business. |

Mr. Ralph Kauten, Chairman
Ralph Kauten serves as Chief Executive Officer of Quintessence Biosciences, Inc. In this role, Mr. Kauten brings together the resources necessary to build the company and managing the resources to achieve commercial success. Principal among these resources are 1) finances (both equity and debt) and 2) personnel to fill the open positions on the management team. Before joining Quintessence, Mr. Kauten spent 20 years working in various technical and managerial positions in the biotechnology industry. Most recently, Mr. Kauten was Chairman and President of PanVera Corporation, a drug discovery company providing innovative new products consisting of human drug target proteins and assays for high throughput screening. Mr. Kauten was one of three founders of PanVera, which is located in Madison, Wisconsin. Under Mr. Kauten's leadership, PanVera grew from a start-up company in 1992 with three employees to an award winning, rapidly growing and profitable company. In recognition of his performance as leader of PanVera, Mr. Kauten received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2001. Prior to PanVera, Mr. Kauten served as Vice President Finance, Chief Financial Officer, and Board Member at Promega Corporation. He played a leading role at Promega from the company's early days and was responsible for securing financing as well as overseeing the financial and administrative aspects of worldwide operations. Mr. Kauten has also served as a founder of Mirus Corporation a gene delivery company located in Madison, Wisconsin and continues to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Kauten has Bachelor and Masters degrees in Business Administration. |

Dr. Laura L. Kiessling, Founder
Laura L. Kiessling, Ph.D., also a founder of the company, is a leading expert on multivalency as well as the chemistry and biology of carbohydrates and nucleic acids. Dr. Kiessling serves on the Company's Board of Directors and on the Scientific Advisory Board. As inventor of a number of the technologies licensed exclusively to the Company, Dr. Kiessling continues to provide guidance on the development and commercialization of those technologies. Dr. Kiessling received a Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry from Yale University and did postdoctoral work in Chemistry at the California Institute of Technology. In 1991, she joined the faculty at the University of Wisconsin--Madison, where she is now Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Dr. Kiessling has served as a Scientific Advisory Board member or consultant for numerous pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. She is on the Editorial Boards of Chemistry & Biology, Carbohydrate Research, and Organic Reactions. Dr. Kiessling has won national awards for her research, including a 1999 MacArthur Fellowship for the discovery of the Neobiopolymer(TM) technology and an Arthur C. Cope Scholar Award in Organic Chemistry from the American Chemical Society. She has been cited as one of "50 R&D Stars to Watch" (Industry Week; December 6, 1999). |

Dr. Ronald T. Raines, Founder
Ronald T. Raines, Ph.D., a founder of the Company, is a leading expert on the chemistry and biology of proteins. Dr. Raines serves on the Company's Board of Directors and is a senior member of the Scientific Advisory Board. In these positions, he provides oversight on the scientific direction of the company. As inventor of a number of the technologies licensed exclusively to Quintessence Biosciences, Dr. Raines provides guidance on the development and commercialization of these technologies. Dr. Raines received A.M. and Ph.D. degrees in organic chemistry from Harvard University and did postdoctoral research in biochemistry and biophysics at the University of California, San Francisco. In 1989, he joined the faculty at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he is now the Henry Lardy Professor of Biochemistry and a Professor of Chemistry. Dr. Raines has served as a Scientific Advisory Board member or consultant for numerous pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and has been a Visiting Scientist at Chiron Corporation. He is on the Editorial Boards of ACS Chemical Biology and Peptide Science. Dr. Raines is an author of over 200 scientific articles and has won national and international awards for his research, including the 1998 Pfizer Award in Enzyme Chemistry and 2004 Arthur C. Cope Scholar Award from the American Chemical Society, the 2005 Emil Thomas Kaiser Award from the Protein Society, and a 2001–2002 Guggenheim Fellowship. He is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Royal Society of Chemistry. Dr. Raines is the inventor of the S-TAG™ technology, which has been licensed by Novagen, Inc. |

Mr. Theodore Rolfs |
| Mr. Rolfs is the Owner and Partner of Red Top Capital LLC, a private equity investment partnership in Hartland, Wisconsin. Prior to Red Top Capital, he was with Arthur Anderson where he specialized in tax matters. Mr. Rolfs attended the University of Notre Dame where he obtained Bachelor, MBA and JD degrees. Currently, he is admitted to practice law in the State of Wisconsin. Mr. Rolfs has been on the Board of Directors for numerous companies, including Tall Pines Land Conservancy, the Wisconsin Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, PanVera Corporation and all portfolio companies held by Red Top Capital. Mr. Rolfs is also on the Advisory Council for The University of Notre Dame Law School |

Mr. David G. Walsh
| Mr. Walsh is a Senior Partner in the Madison office of the law firm Foley and Lardner where he has focused on cable television and telecommunications law. He received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School. Mr. Walsh serves as the President of the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents. He is a trustee for the Foundation Fighting Blindness and a member of the Boards of National Guardian Life Insurance Company, Thompson Investment Management, LLC, Capital Newspapers, Inc. (publisher of the Capital Times and the Wisconsin State Journal), the University of Wisconsin Children's Hospital and the University of Wisconsin HealthStar. |
